Human Gene Set: HP_PERIVENTRICULAR_LEUKOMALACIA

Standard name HP_PERIVENTRICULAR_LEUKOMALACIA
Systematic name M36961
Brief description Periventricular leukomalacia
Full description or abstract Periventricular leukomalacia is characterized by diffuse injury of deep cerebral white matter, accompanied in its most severe form by focal necrosis. The neuropathologic hallmarks of PVL are microglial activation and focal and diffuse periventricular depletion of premyelinating oligodendroglia. [PMID:16808630, PMID:18852342, PMID:28406931]
